SMARTPHONE FREE CAMPAIGN

At Cunningham Hill we strongly believe in the Smartphone Free Childhood campaign to delay giving children smartphones until at least 14 years old. Over the last few years we have witnessed the negative impact that Smartphones (and increased screen access) have had on our children. There is more and more evidence available through reputable research data that shows that access to smartphones is damaging our children, including:

  • Reducing attention spans
  • Being addictive
  • Negatively impacting behaviour and mental health
  • Damaging eyesight
  • Exposing children to negative online content, grooming and cyberbullying

We would like to see the expected age that children get a Smartphone rise to at least 14 years old. On this page you can find a range of resources to help you make an informed decision on what age to get your child a smartphone.
